The first week of January marked my own 20th anniversary at Market Measures. This is the company which my Dad, Phil Gurd, set up 37 years ago and of which I am now the owner & CEO (In fact that is my dad you can see in the thumbnail of the article!)
The business has changed significantly over the past 20 years, and it looks like our logo has definitely evolved along with it! Nevertheless, I’m very proud to say that our core values have remained the same. To approach every project with an open-mind and enthusiasm and to repay the faith our clients have placed in us by delivering research that everyone is proud of. We remain a happily independent consultancy – and this year passed the unexpected milestone of billing £50m since I joined the company.
The team now at Market Measures is stronger than it’s ever been during my tenure here. We’re working with more clients, in more categories, in more countries than ever before. Hats off to my trusted co-directors – Rachel Cristofoli, Crispin Boon and Sally Gamblin – and a huge thank you to the whole team, of whom there are too many to mention here!
While there will always be ups-and-downs in business, I’m very optimistic our direction of travel remains positive for 2024.
